When used as an extension for titanium dioxide, HYDREX® can help lower CO2 emissions and costs per metric ton of paper produced.
HYDREX® magnesium aluminosilicates are manufactured by precipitating sodium silicate solution with a mixture of magnesium and aluminum sulfate. This process leads to a unique pore structure. HYDREX® has excellent light scattering power increasing paper opacity and brightness.
All HYDREX® grades are suitable for wood containing as well as woodfree paper products, such as décor paper, filter tipping paper, envelope paper, thin printing paper, and paperboard. HYDREX® P is generally recognized as safe material in food contact applications. HYDREX® is available as powder and as slurry.
