If water-repellent comes into contact with a glass surface, what should we do?
In general, contact between Protectosil® products and glass surfaces should be avoided. Our products Protectosil® BHN and Protectosil® 40 S usually leave no residue on glass. The monomeric silanes contained in these products evaporate from most smooth surfaces without leaving any residue. Nevertheless, the compatibility of Protectosil® BHN and Protectosil® 40 S with uncovered, smooth surfaces should be checked before use. The products Protectosil® WS 410, Protectosil® WS 770 P, Protectosil® ANTIGRAFFITI and Protectosil® 100 NK in particular leave residues on windows and should be removed immediately after contact. If a silane building protection product gets on glass, it must be removed as soon as possible. Aqueous products such as Protectosil® WS 410, Protectosil® WS 700 P and Protectosil® ANTIGRAFFITI can normally be removed with a standard glass cleaner, especially if this is done quickly after contact.
