Efforts to regulate PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) at the international level – and thus protect the environment from so-called “forever chemicals” – date back to the mid-2000s. Some PFAS have already been restricted from consumer and industrial products. A comprehensive ban on this group of substances remains on the agenda of the EU and other international institutions. Evonik is responding to these challenges with a formulation that addresses the PFAS concerns: Protectosil ECO-TRETE® ANTIGRAFFITI. This graffiti control system allows manufacturers and users to continue relying on effective building protection systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.

On facades treated with Protectosil ECO-TRETE® ANTIGRAFFITI, graffiti are easy to remove. Paints do not penetrate the treated building material and can therefore be removed with ease leaving no shadows or residues behind. Difficult cleaning procedures are a thing of the past.

Protectosil ECO-TRETE® ANTIGRAFFITI does not contain intentionally added PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and is not PFAS itself. However, due to the widespread use of PFAS in industrial processes – such as in precursors and/or in production equipment – trace amounts of these substances may be present in the supply chain. Completely eliminating PFAS traces is currently not technically feasible in industrial production. We are committed to minimizing such entries as much as possible.
We are continuously improving our product portfolio, to be in line with existing or upcoming regulations. Protectosil ECO-TRETE® ANTIGRAFFITI is a newly designed anti-graffiti solution that offers all the benefits of graffiti control systems – only without intentionally added PFAS.* This supports you in achieving compliance with current and upcoming PFAS regulations.

Protectosil ECO-TRETE® ANTIGRAFFITI offers an effective graffiti protection against graffiti vandalism - completely fluorine-free. Our silane-based solution reacts with the buildings substrate, creating reliable protection. Paints can be easily removed, eliminating the need for labor-intensive or aggressive cleaning methods. Surfaces remain fully intact and resistant to several graffiti attacks. The result: reduced maintenance costs and long-term preservation of the property through easier graffiti removal.
