Our operating businesses lines are bundled within three segments Custom Solutions, Advanced Technologies and Infrastructure.
Tailored Solutions for Growth Markets
In our Custom Solutions segment, we focus on growth markets that require close, collaborative customer contact. These markets include additives for coatings, adhesives and sealants, polyurethane foams and lubricants, catalysts and ingredients for the cosmetics, cleaning and pharmaceutical industries.
At Custom Solutions innovation takes place at product and service level, ensuring that we develop the tailored solutions our customers need. We work with small product quantities that have a big impact.
Our products and solutions are not just focused on customer needs, we work closely with our customer to develop solutions together. This ensures success both for us and our customers and means that we respond quickly to evolving markets. Sustainability is a key driver in the markets served by our Custom Solutions segment.
We are leveraging our technology platforms such as biotechnology and silicone technology across all of our business lines to create more sustainable solutions. Innovations focus on biosolutions and the circular economy which are important growth areas for Evonik.
The business lines Comfort & Insulation, Interface & Performance, Coating Additives, Coatings & Adhesive Resins, Catalysts and Oil Additives together form the group “Additives”.
The business lines Care Solutions and Health Care belong to the life science unit “Health & Care”.
Leading Through Technological Expertise and Efficiency
In the Advanced Technologies segment, we focus on efficiency through high levels of technological expertise and operational excellence. Businesses in this segment include high-performance polymers, crosslinkers, hydrogen peroxide and silica, and feed additives.
Innovations in the Advanced Technologies segment aim to further optimize the resource and energy efficiency of our production processes, many of which are high-volume, continuous manufacturing systems.
Sustainability is a key market driver, and reducing the carbon footprint of our products is a top priority for Evonik.
Our businesses in the Advanced Technologies segment are innovating to grow in the areas of energy transition and the circular economy.
The business lines Crosslinkers and High Performance Polymers belong to the unit “Organics”. The business lines Smart Effects and Active Oxygens together form the unit “Inorganics”. In addition, the business line Animal Nutrition belongs to the Advanced Technologies segment.
The Infrastructure segment bundles the site-related infrastructure activities of the Marl and Wesseling sites in Germany and also includes the Oxeno business line (C4 chemicals).
