Evonik’s chemical site in Witten operates the Polyester 1 and Polyester 2 plants, which supply polyester resins in both solid and liquid form for use in a wide range of technical applications.
As binders for the coatings industry and as key raw materials for the adhesives industry, the saturated polyester resins produced in Witten under the DYNAPOL® and DYNACOLL® product families offer outstanding adhesion, elasticity, formability, and chemical resistance. They are primarily used in the automotive sector, wood processing, textile manufacturing, packaging production, and hygiene product applications.
DYNAPOL® stands for high quality in the production of coil coatings. It is used wherever metal surfaces are coated — from food cans and building façades to household appliances.
For the production of environmentally friendly, solvent‑free hot‑melt adhesives, the so‑called reactive hotmelts, DYNACOLL® provides a comprehensive portfolio for applications in the packaging, textile, and wood‑processing industries as well as in the automotive sector.
Around 270 people work on the approximately 16‑hectare site in Witten.
