Soilite
Soilite is an innovative platform dedicated to helping private and public landowners solve environmental issues such as water and soil contamination. Our Active Oxygens soil and groundwater remediation experts treat pollutants and harmful contaminants using field-proven in situ and ex situ treatment technologies.
In situ chemical reduction (ISCR) and enhanced reductive dechlorination (ERD), provide cost-effective remediation approaches for soil and groundwater with elevated concentrations of chlorinated solvents and heavy metals.
Our remediation professionals who emphasize in situ treatment of groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents are increasingly using ERD and ISCR-based systems. The likelihood of successful outcomes in their work increases when they use an organic electron donor that is easy to apply, long-lasting, well distributed and cost-effective. ELS® and EHC® Liquid are new lecithin-based reagents that have these properties and therefore represent a favorable alternative to other electron donors.

Product Overview
EHC® Liquid
EHC® Liquid is an in situ chemical reduction (ISCR) product and a liquid variant of EHC®. It was developed specifically for injection via existing wells or hydraulic injection networks for the treatment of a wide range of groundwater contaminants.
The anaerobic biodegradation and abiotic dechlorination reactions promoted by EHC® Liquid are effective in the remediation of chlorinated solvents, energy carriers, pesticides, and herbicides.
EHC® Liquid creates strong reducing conditions and promotes both biotic and abiotic dechlorination reactions. EHC® Liquid consists of two parts: EHC® Liquid Reagent Mix, an organo-iron compound, and ELS® Micro, which can be easily combined and diluted for injection.
Key Benefits:
- Stimulation of both abiotic and biotic reductive dechlorination
- Proven service life of 4–5 years under field conditions
- Combined approach minimizes the production of problematic daughter products, such as DCE and VC
- ZVI corrosion (alkaline) and fermenting carbon (acidic) are in equilibrium and produce a neutral pH, unlike the two components alone
- Easy to handle and cold water soluble
ELS® Concentrate
By creating reducing conditions and providing electrons for dechlorinating bacteria, ELS® promotes enhanced reductive dechlorination reactions. The product is suitable for treating harmful contaminants such as chlorinated solvents, most pesticides, haloalkanes or chromium.
As the bacteria feed on the carbon, they consume dissolved oxygen and other electron acceptors, reducing the redox potential in the groundwater and creating favorable conditions for reductive dechlorination.
ELS® Concentrate is supplied as a 100% concentrate that is soluble in cold water and can be applied via existing wells, hydraulic injection networks or direct-push technology.
Key Benefits:
- Stimulation of biotic reductive dechlorination
- Structurally bound nutrients phosphorus and nitrogen are released to bacteria through the fermentation of the lecithin molecule
- Formation of stable emulsions
- Easy to handle and cold water soluble
