Hygroscopic feed premix ingredients such as amino acids and proteins are sticky and tend to cake. Evonik’s SIPERNAT® D 17 is a high-performance free flow and anti-caking agent, designed especially for processing amino acids and proteins such as lysine, methionine and threonine, hydrolysates of casein, whey, soy, corn or wheat, or fishmeal. This precipitated silica with a hydrophobic surface prevents hygroscopic powders from adsorbing moisture. It needs only low dosage levels of SIPERNAT® D 17 to ensure powders remain free flowing during the production process and prolonged periods of storage, even under challenging environmental conditions. As a naturally derived mineral ingredient, silica is an approved, safe, and highly effective ingredient and processing aid for livestock feed.
