1,3-Butadiene

1,3-Butadiene is used either as a monomer for synthetic rubber (e.g. for use in tires) or other polymers and as an intermediate for the production of other chemicals.

1-Butene

Butene-1 is used mainly as co-monomer for polyethylene (LLDPE, HDPE) or co-monomer for ethylene/propylene copolymers where it improves for example the tear strength of the polymer.
